With season 18 coming to a close, and season 19 starting it is time to reflect on last season and look ahead to the future.
Season 18 started well with a 5th place in Division 2 classic Ainnet - Bruggen. This form was carried forward to Monte Rosa tour, where former Polish number 1, Pietryzyk got his second 3rd place finish (GC) in as many years. The team also celebrated a runner up position in the YC thanks to some great riding by young German, Retzlaff.
The most surprising result of the season came in Kirovohrad Zyte Tour (Day 31), a hilly sprint race where we celebrated a magnificent 2nd and 9th thanks to a breakway group consisting of two young riders. Banks who is now an integral part of our squad and Vazquez who has since been traded to Scorpions POPRAD, where he is being trained.
After this results dried up until we travelled to Mexico on Day 73. The team competed in two races while we were there with Retzlaff captaining the side, since Pietryzyk was on holiday. With new teammate Joachim Lowik in support Retzlaff powered to two magnificent wins. One in Division 3 race, Chieti - Blockhaus and the other a Division 2 race, Morelia - Mexico City G2.
On Day 86 another team member stepped up to the plate. This time it was the turn of Portuguese domestique Ernesto Areosa. He got himself into the decisive break away and won Criterium Monaco G3.

The form at the end of season 18 has continued at the start of this season with Emerge cycling team already having a win, a 3rd and a 5th place finish already this season.
The win came from another unlikely source, being Elton Lewin. He is a new signing, having been purchased from disbanding team VCBM late last season. He was determined to impress his new team and instantly went on the attack in Hugel Fahrt. No one in the Peloton reacted and he went off by himself to gain a terrific solo victory.
This result was quickly followed by a 5th place in Porto GP by Retzlaff. This young German is starting to get a big reputation, as a great climber, and it remains to be seen whether he can do it at the highest level.
Finally the 3rd place came in Division 2 classic Ainnet - Bruggen from the returning Pietryzyk. It was the first time he has been given the captaincy since he went on holiday last season. He has returned fresh and is ready for action.
Goals for Season 19:
1: Win Monte Rosa Tour (Pietryzyk - providing my calculations are correct he will hit 91DP:91RS on Day 18 at around midday and therefore will be in TF)
2: Achieve 10 results total
3: Top 9 in Lappi Sea GP and Grasse - Toulon;- Division 2 Classics(Banks)
4: Win Promotion to Top Division
5: Train Steven Yearsley and Ethan Derrick
6: Work on Sprinting Team
